Well anyways, back to your regularly scheduled blog post...


This research assignment was actually a lot more insightful than I initially expected it to be. I thought I knew a lot about Fenty Beauty, but there was so much more I had to learn. I never would have guessed that Rihanna had a charitable foundation, or that Fenty would have released a product that benefitted the foundation. As a PR major and a nonprofit studies minor, it made me very happy to know one of my favorite brands had a way of giving back to society called the Clara Lionel Foundation (CLF). I realized that if I was close follower of Fenty and didn't know that CLF existed, there was probably a good chance not many other people did either. When conducting my interviews and focus groups, I confirmed my assumptions. Many of the people I talked to were not aware that any beauty companies had a charitable foundation, let alone Fenty Beauty. I realized that moving forward, I should focus on promoting both Fenty and CLF, because it can raise awareness and funds for the foundations, but also give Fenty some good PR. (and there is nothing wrong with that!) I also realized that it would be a good idea for the brand to reach out to more beauty influencers for testimonials and partnerships, because these are the people a lot of consumers are looking for approval before they purchase a product. I think that is a great way to get their social media mentions up and improve the sales of both their best selling and lesser known products.
